PogoTec’s philosophy is that one size doesn’t fit all. PogoCam doesn’t only work with one kind of eyewear or one pair of glasses. PogoCam isn’t only built for Apple users. Our app doesn’t only share through one social network. We want our technology to work with the technology and social media that you already prefer.
In that same spirit, while PogoCam cannot yet transfer videos wirelessly, we recognize that some users don’t use a desktop or laptop computer. You CAN transfer photos and videos to an Android or iOS device with cables.
Here is our complete guide to using PogoCam with an iPhone or iPad, without the app, using the included USB cable.
YES, you can connect a PogoCam to an iOS device. However, you CANNOT connect a smart case to an iOS device.
To connect your PogoCam to your iPhone or iPad, all you need is the Lightning to USB Camera Adaptor and the USB-C to USB Type A cable included with your PogoCam.
Make sure the PogoCam is powered on before connecting to the iOS device. (Note: nothing will be damaged if the PogoCam is powered off when you connect but you’ll get a warning from iOS and will not be able to view media.)
Once you connect the PogoCam to the iOS device the Import function should automatically launch.
You may select certain images and videos to import or import all.
When you click “Import,” you’ll be given these options.
Once the images have imported, you’ll have the option to delete them from PogoCam. We recommend you do. When you’re using PogoCam without the app, you’ll need to delete images manually.
Unplug the cables when you are finished and iOS will automatically jump to your Last Import gallery.
NOTE: iOS will convert .AVI videos natively. You don’t need to do anything. Just watch your video once before you share it and the conversion will be done so that when you go to share on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or elsewhere, you’re not sharing the original .AVI file but the converted video.
Note on power
PogoCam will not charge while plugged into an iOS device. You can charge the PogoCam through the USB cable and a wall adapter or directly from a computer. If you are using the PogoCam directly with an iOS device, you should avoid using the smart case until AFTER you have transferred files to your device. Plugging PogoCam into the smart case will offload all your files to the smart case.
